Many of the same side effects as artificial colors, including everything from headaches to cancerous tumors 4. SLS (detergent , foaming agent): Toxic . It is drying, causes ulcers and damage to gum tissue. 5. Triclosan : combines with chlorine ( which is found in most tap water) and becomes chloroform. 6. Fluoride: while naturally occurring fluoride found in sea minerals has some benefits, the one that is added to the water supplies, toothpastes, mouthwashes, is different. It is pure poison. An industrial by-product, uses as an insecticide, and is documented to be highly corrosive to not only glass and metal but to skin, as well as causing respiratory illnesses. GLI:N ZERO PLASTIC WEEK CHALLENGE DAY#1 : The easiest 8 ways to reduce plastic waste for shopping

GLI:N ZERO PLASTIC WEEK CHALLENGE DAY#1 : The easiest 8 ways to reduce plastic waste for shopping

09. June 2014. Wit Monday/ Pentecost Monday I had an easy day today. Most of the shops were closed today due to the holiday. Our shopping rhythm also helps because Fridays are the market day here, when we buy our weekly vegetables , fruits, cheese and bread portions. So, on Mondays my fridge is still relatively full. I think, I do not have a big issue in general, till Friday.  My only concern is the MILK. We get milk in big plastic bottles.  I do not want to start a debate on how healthy is milk or how should we replace it with another product. I have a milk stock at home, which will last no more than two days.  Which means my first challenge is, how to find a farm/supplier in our region, where I can find milk in glass bottles. If you happen to know one place near us, please let me know. 😉 And here is the easiest 8 ways to reduce your plastic consumption in general: #1 Always take your own shopping bags. #2 Refuse plastic bags when shop assistants want to use. #3 Reuse your plastic bags at home.  #4 Go for refill packages. #5 Choose vegetables and fruits without plastic packaging. #6 Buy your groceries at the your local markets. #7 Replace your household products with home made products. #8 Refuse ready made or half ready made products which are usually wrapped in plastic. -Want to learn how to make healthy , chemical free, plastic packaging free cosmetic products? Do you know what the benefit of sunbathing is?       Because it has a lot of good impact on you and your body.  You will get a good mood from the sunshine, keeps away depression.  Your body could produce more vitamin D, that has an important role of the bone health and acts as a pre-hormone for your hypophysis . This week you will learn how to make a Bath Bomb.   Ingredients: 1 cup of baking soda 1 cup of powdered citric acid ½ cup of cornstarch  ⅓ cup finely ground Epsom salts ¼ cup powdered milk 2 tablespoons of olive oil 2 tablespoons melted cocoa butter 1 tablespoon water essential oils (up to 6 -10 drops) food coloring ( 2-4 drops)Process: Mix the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, Epsom salts, and powdered milk well.  Add the wet ingredients. Slowly pour in the olive oil and cocoa butter, mixing gently with your hands. Use a spray bottle to add lukewarm water until the dough is solid enough to be compacted. Don’t add too much moisture though, as this will cause the dough to begin fizzing before it is even finished. Add your color and scent. Use up to 6 -10 drops, knowing that the scent will be a bit stronger when added to the warm bath water. You can additionally choose to add food coloring to the mix. Put the dough in molds. Be sure to press firmly so that the dough sticks well and doesn’t form cracks when dried. Let the bath bombs dry out. Place the dough in the molds in an area that is cool and dry for at least 24 hours. Store the bath bombs. Place all of the bath bombs in a sealable container away from moisture. for more inspiration follow us on Pinterest here: http://www.pinterest.com/GLINPRODUCTS/detox-bath-ideas-tips Want to make a sunscreen, click here for the recipe.
